Wines of quality that respect history and the environment
Dionisio Ruiz planted his first vine in 1975. A vineyard on an old gravel pitwhich reproduced the natural conditions in which vines grow in La Rioja. And so began a pioneering road. Viña Ijalba, founded in 1991, elaborating quality ecological wines using tradtionial techniques of la Rioja, and even now, in its third generation, respecting its compromise with the environment.
Innovation from its inception
Viña Ijalba means innovation, research, and respect for the environment. Since its inception it has contributed to recuperating minority native varieties of Rioja, looking for a difference based on individual, modern wines. But looking into the past without turning their back on it. From varieties of yesteryear come the wines of today.
The nature of our wines is based on vineyards on poor soils, limited production, recuperated varieties and the ecological techniques that we apply. In the process of elaboration we also apply natural ecological criteria, but always thinking of wiines which are of the highest quality, unique and, above all, very individual.
