Château Les Valentines

Château Les Valentines was started by a couple that gave up everything 20 years ago to make wine in Provence. After studying viticulture and oenology for a year they discovered 10 hectares of old vines and started their new adventure.

They had to start from scratch: the vineyard was poorly maintained and as the grapes were sold to the local cooperative by the previous owner, they had to build a new estate from the ground up. This blank slate was an opportunity to start fresh and convert straight away the vineyard to organic farming.
The estate’s name is a contraction of the owner’s chidren names: Valentin and Clementine.

Since then, the Estate has grown to now cover 50 hectares on the coast of the Côtes de Provence La Londe Appellation. The vineyard benefits from the Mediterranean climate, sun, mistral and the influence from the sea, which makes it possible to vinify sincere, balanced and very regular wines each year.

Year after year Gilles & Pascale have devoted all their energy to create wines that highlight the wonderful terroir of La Londe les Maures: schists and ancient colluviums develop a great typicity, dominated by minerality and spices.
