Château Tour Sieujean is a vineyard located at Saint-Laurent-du-Medoc, southwest of the Pauillac appellation. Its vineyards cover 8 hectares on Pauillac and in Haut-Médoc. The estate is one of the last family-sized estates among the many grands crus of Pauillac. They are 18 in total, which represent 85% of the area of the appellation.
The family has occupied the estate for four generations. Until 1948, they produced wine under the name of “Château La Tour Sieujean,” before opting to partner with cellar cooperatives in the area, during which time they shared their harvests with other local producers in lieu of processing wine on-site. In 2002, they decided to begin producing wine again independently under the present title, Château Tour Sieujean.
The highly propitious climate of the Medoc peninsula with mild temperatures, light, and sun ensures maturity of each grape varietal, enabling winemakers to obtain excellent “Vins de Garde” (bottled wines for ageing).
