A cooperative of more than 120 families of vinters, with a 350 hectares estate, born at the end of the sixties thanks to the far-sightedness of some wine growers from Cormòns who wanted to learn from centuries-old traditions.
This COOP embraced a project: a specific protocol based on a Countryside Notebook, a detailed Code of Conduct that every member must comply with. Here all the details are written down. Each member reports the start and the end date of the grapevine phenological stages, in order to achieve a homogenous and high qualitative standard of the grapes.
A steady supervision of the 350 hectares of vineyards ensures protection from parasites, and 8 high tech weather stations, scattered over microclimatic spots, record any change in weather. The collected information is immediately dispatched to the Cantina computer station: a technology which supports and enables the old customs.
Cantina Produttori Cormons is part of a national program called SQNPI, the Italian National Quality System for Integrated Production. This is a sustainability certificate recognized by the Ministry for agriculture for products obtained using integrated production techniques.
