Domaine de la Renaudie is located in Touraine, in the heart of the Loire Valley. The vineyard is 30 hectares,. 18 of which are planted in Chenonceaux, a sub-appellation of Touraine. The AOC was created in 2011 and was named after the famous local castle. The total surface of this new appellation is 100 hectares and there are very few producers. Chenonceaux respects the strict regulation of these wines, and if the quality of a bottle does not meet the requirements, the producers would be categorized simply as “Touraine” instead.
Domaine de la Renaudie operates in accordance with the strict criteria of the AOC in addition to strict environmental regulations. They are certified in sustainability by Terra Vitis, an environmental organization recognized by the Ministry of Agriculture. The protection of natural resources is but one criterion; the health of the cellar master, employees, neighbors and consumers is equally important in sustainability.
Domaine de la Renaudie has been operated by the same family for generations. Charlotte, the youngest winemaker, currently oversees the estate.
