The Domaine Félines Jourdan has belonged to the Jourdan family since 1983. Wine producers for several generations in the Languedoc area, the family has a passion for cultivating and harvesting several unique varietals that grow in the area, including Picpoul de Pinet. Their vineyard is situated at the edge of the Etang de Thau, along the Mediterranean coast, which bathes the vines in seaspray and provides ideal humidity.
The estate is composed of three unique terroirs: Felines, the gentle-sloping plain located on the banks of the Etang de Thau, where the vines enjoy cool marine air in limestone and clay up to 20 meters in elevation; Les Cadestres, located on a plateau in the heart of the appellation with exposure to marine wind and a complex soil composition of chalk and pebbles at around 45 meters; and La Coulette, the eastern-exposed hills with red soil and sandy-gravel layers over deep strata of sandstone that are shielded by forest at around 80 meters.
The coastal climate of all three terroirs, which is cooler than most of Languedoc, allows for exceptionally fresh white wines and fruity reds. This is only enhanced by the vinification process, which takes place in temperature-controlled stainless-steel vats to preserve the fruit aromas of the wines.
The female winemaker of the domaine, Claude Jourdan, oversees all administration of the estate.
