Family Fidora bought a XVI century Benedictine estate in Venice province in 1927 and start faming organically in 1974. Today, at its 4th generation, the winey proudly moved a step forward carrying on biodynamic philosophy in all its estates in Veneto region. The wines are Demeter certified and made with 100% estate fruits. Reds are produced in Valpolicella on the hillside, surrounded by forest to ensure biodiversity and no contamination from neighbors. There is a perfect microclimate and a limestone terroir. Whites and sparkling wines give are produced and gives their best expression in Venice province with the Pleistocene soil, next to the lagoon.
Pioneers in organic farming since 1974, they were the first farm in northern Italy converting to organic. Since then they have always been carrying on with this philosophy and, in 2015, they converted to Biodynamic. To them, ensuring biodiversity has always been the key to let the soil renew itself. they keep at least 1/3 of the soil unproductive and wild, to encourage the natural presence of both for autochthone plants and wild animals. They believe in the closed-circle farm model. They consider their estates as self-sufficient organisms that is why they have our own animals, to have their own manure. They make themselves all biodynamic preparations. In their vision, the earth itself has to be considered a living being, which develops and is subject to the laws of all living organisms.
