“Janna e Mare” in Sardinian language is the Door of the Sea. Janna ‘e Mare is located just a few kilometers from Alghero, in the northwestern corner of Sardinia kissed by the Mediterranean sun and caressed by scented winds of Mistral.
The winery has been founded in 2022 by three oenologists and aims to provide wine lovers with a full range of wines, representing almost all the typical Sardinian grape varieties: from the Vermentino to Cannonau, to the local Cagnulari and Torbato, to Bovale and Monica. Wines from the Gate of the Sea preserving the authentic flavors of an ancient land.
Daniele Manca is at the helm of this project. Student of the oenology university of Sassari and currently a professor. After several experience around Italy as oenologist, Daniele came back to Sardinia and worked for about 15 years as a consultant for different wineries. Janna e Mare is his newborn. An idea to showcase this quite untouched area of Sardinia to the world.
