Roero is part of Langhe and is located on the northern part of this wine region. North of Tanaro river. Both red and white wines made in Roero are fragrant and elegant – mainly because of the higher content of clay and sand in the soil. Marine fossils are frequently found in the vineyards. For millions of years this land was covered by the Mediterranean Sea, until tectonic movements led to formation of the hills of Roero in the Pliocene Epoch, three million years ago.
Handpicked from the middle to the end of September. Fermentation in steel tanks, approximately 15 days’ maceration. Following maceration, the wine is decanted and malolactic fermentation begins. Ageing takes place on fine lees until bottling. Ageing takes place in steel tanks. Once bottled, the wine can be kept for 5 to 6 years.
Dense ruby red color. Fresh, intense nose with marked plum and cherry sensations. On the palate, it is imposing and warm with a long finish. Acidity is balanced and melds with the wine’s structure yielding pleasure and drinkability. Aftertaste is crisp with notes of jam. Ideal with pasta dishes, meat and charcuterie.
