A top clay layer with calcareous and tuffeau soil underneath. 140 acres of organic vineyards all located in Miralduolo di Torgiano, all around the main house. Certified Organic EU Standard, Ceritified Equalitas Sustainable Winery, and part of the New Green Revolution program: the wine is certified organic, produced at the winery only with estate grapes. Terre Margaritelli have selected a specific forest in Burgundy, the forest of Bertranges, for its own barrels. The family has the right to cut the oak trees in Bertrange and to give the wood to the barrel maker to produce the barrels for the winery.
Harvest starts in the second half of October. Soft press of the grapes then fermentation on the skin for 12 to 15 days at temperature controlled. Aging from 12 to 24 months in new French barrels, and aging 24 months in bottle.
Inspired by the tradition, Terre Margaritelli created a Riserve of pure Sangiovese. The maximum expression of
the Sangiovese’s character comes from it’s bright ruby color, and distinctive floral notes of violet, accompanied by the scent of red fruit and raspberry. A powerful, elegant wine that will benefit from long ageing.
