Wiegner Winery is located on the northern slope of Etna, planted with red grapes (Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio) and white grapes (Carricante), at an altitude of 750m above sea level. Being of recent volcanic activity, the soil can be very different in the same vineyard. Soils are sometimes pebbly and gravelly, sometimes sandy, or rather, ashes. Their volcanic composition gives different character to the wine, plenty of nuances and determines the distinctive mineral flavor of Etna wines. Among the vineyards, fruit trees, flowers, and olive trees create a very balanced ecosystem.
Fermentation with indigenous yeasts at controlled temperature. Aging in mixed barrels, and a minimum of 6 months bottle aging.
