Since the 17th century, the Bader Mimeur family has owned and managed vines in and around Chassagne-Montrachet, mainly in the Côte de Beaune.
Charles Bader, the son of Marie Pierette Nie and Philippe Bader, was a wine-merchant at Halle-aux-Vins in Paris. He married Elise Mimeur in 1920, whose father, Charles Mimeur, owned the Domaine du Château de Chassagne-Montrachet.
Together, the combined family owns and manages 98% of the vines of Domaine du Château de Chassagne-Montrachet, as well as other vines located on the Chassagne-Montrachet and Saint Aubin villages. Above all, Bader-Mimeur is about passion for the best in order to satisfy its customers from all over the world.
Vines are closely watched and sustainably grown so that the use of treatment products is minimized. Bader Mimeur’s search for the best also means a natural fermentation and ageing in quality oak barrels.
The Team of the Estate is composed of Marie-Pierre Bader-Fossier, the great-granddaughter of Charles Bader and Elise Mimeur, and Alain Fossier, Marie-Pierre’s husband, who is equally passionate about the terroir. Their children, Nathalie and Sebastien are part of the team as well, and Jean-Luc Huguenin serves as vineyard manager with his passion for vines and vinification.
